Works with Students in Grades:

I am happy to work with students in all grades.

Educational Philosophies:

I believe that we are each responsible to God for developing our skills and talents so that we can be of use in furthering God’s kingdom. As an educator, I believe that I have the added responsibility of inspiring and assisting my students in doing the same. My goal is to facilitate the development of well rounded, practical, and service-oriented students who are focused on using their God-given talents to make the world a better place. Building strong relationships with my students is very important to me as I am a teacher at heart.

Educational Interests:

I have an extremely broad spectrum of interests and use my wide-ranging background to connect well with a very wide range of students. Making learning interdisciplinary and practical is a particular passion for me. Because of my diverse background I am effective at answering the “Why do I need to know this?” and “Where would I ever use this?” type of questions.

Instructional Specialties:

I enjoy working with a diverse range of subjects and grades. I particularly enjoy teaching group classes and facilitating group projects and learning, even when there is physical distance between students. I also enjoy hands-on, practical, service-oriented, and in-depth projects.

Areas I Do Not Cover:

Grade 11 & 12 biology and chemistry.

Communication Style Preference:

To meet in an online classroom (RingCentral/Zoom) or by phone and to combine that with email as this allows me to provide the most effective support.

Hours of Availability:

Available weekdays from 8:30-3:00pm. I am open to meeting in either a regularly scheduled format or on an as-needed basis.
